The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners wants FCC chmn Ajit Pai to expand membership of the Broadband Deployment Advisory Committee (BDAC). Of the group’s 30 members, two represent state government, two represent city government and one represents a tribal government, NARUC said. Clark County Taking Steps to Increase Wireless Service on Las Vegas Strip

Clark County has hired a broadband planning company to help regulate anticipated contracts with major wireless carriers. Companies including Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile have indicated to the county that they are interested in installing low-powered nodes on light poles and other structures along the Strip to improve cellphone reception. The county received more than 230 requests to install the small cell sites on the Strip last year.
